MORNING BIRDWATCHING ︎︎︎ STARTS AT 9:30 am
Thursday, October 17th SMITH AND BYBEE WETLANDS NATURAL AREA
if you’ve never "gone birding" before, now is your chance!!!
if you have watched a bird before, come and do it again!!!
we will all wake up not too early, but a little bit early, to look around for winged critters. we might
name them, we might laugh at their antics, we might go awwwwwww. we won't walk too far or
too fast. this is a family-friendly, beginner-friendly, bedhead-friendly kinda thing.
we can bring some coffee to put that extra pep in your step and we always have binoculars to
share...
GUERO BIRD-STANDING AROUND︎︎︎ 9:45AM at

didn’t think guero bird outings could get any more low-key? sit on down and let me tell you otherwise! meet us at the SAUVIE ISLAND VIEWING PLATFORM to see some geese, eat some snacks, and talk seasonal migration. then we will take a short drive down to raccoon point to point our spotting scope at some sandhill cranes!
EVENING BIRD STROLL
︎︎︎ START AT 6:45PM
not a “morning person”? try birding at the opposite end of the day!
when the swallows stoop and spiral and sup
a great mess of crows poppy the sky towards a communal roost
juncos trill out a prayer from little cedar pulpits
and sometimes sometimes an owl begins her silent work
